I was so impressed and also surprised after watching a movie titled “A Little Thing Called Love” a.k.a “First Love”. I can’t believe that a Thai movie could be so good.

Yes, in my opinion it is a good movie, even compared to the hits Indonesian romantic teen movie ever “Ada Apa Dengan Cinta” a.k.a AADC. These movie talked about love at teen age. But Thai movie explained it better in simple and popular way rather than hyperbolic act and poetry dialog of Indonesian movie.

Did I say it is good? No, this movie is very very good. I think its audience was not just intended for teenagers, but for everyone, even for your grandparents. Why? I don’t want to spoil the story, but I gotta tell you that most of us ever experience the feeling, reaction which plotted in the movie.
Even the story line was told from a viewpoint of girl, whom usually shy to express their feeling, I guess this ‘love sense’ is usually happened to everyone.

Started by a girl had a crush on a schoolmate boy, her friends helped her to catch her love. Rather than chasing, they used many tricks to get the boy. She also had to compete other girls.
Many scene would make you smile or laugh.

• Keeps less money for value but meaningful thing from the boy
• Feels happy only to hear the voice on the phone.
• Pretends to fall to catch the attention
• Secret gifts
• To do some make over
• More practice for best result

And many more..

You may find this movie is so funny that makes you laugh, or so touchy that makes you cry.
But a little passage had been caught in my mind.
She has the will to make over her looks. She raises her ability. Bravely do many thing she had never imagine before.
Yes, the love has powered her up to do some great thing, to change everything, to make impossible things become real, to have the dreams come true.

Step a side from the movie, back then when I was at her age. When a smart charming little girl brought the sunshine to the class.
Without her, it would be an ordinary boring class with some bourgeois student, bad boy, or clever ones trying to achieve best rank.

A strange feeling came and many questions asked in his mind after he knew who she was.
Will she be my partner of life?
If it is so, what should I do to get her?
Will she take me as I am?
Oh, she’s from rich and well-educated family, how can I reach that level?
Oh, she’s a pious moslem, can I lever myself then I can stand beside her equally?
And many type of questions between the boy and the girl, and what the future should be.

He was motivated. He must pursue a better education. Get a better job was considered as a mandatory. To be rich was also in his priority.
But beyond all of those inspiration, he wanted to be a better person. A better man who can stands equally beside her.

And here the boy becomes that man.
Maybe he is not so perfectly as imagined before, but he tries as best as he can.
He wants to say ‘thank you’ to that little girl – now a woman.
She has powered him up. And now he has changed better and better.
